Cat_man, do you have any other pics of your rear end besides the gallery?
kw5413. do you have any pics of thes lights your talking about?
CWB, your setup is nice!
It didn't take long. I busted one of the lights already. I was able to put it back together again. Maybe after a few more breaks I will move them to a safer area.
I had just washed and waxed (two coats of wax) the truck so I wanted it in the garage.... Backed in and hit the compressor. (Who is the damn fool who left it there?) What was that sound. I pulled up and voila, one broken and dangling fog light....
Here are the ones I got from Pepboy's ($30)... both are 55watt and they light up the area back to the end of my 14' trailer. They are wired to the backup lights now, but as soon as I pick up a switch they are going to be hooked to that so I can use them when hooking the trailer up and such.
I've got a set of PIAA 1500 fog lights from my old truck that I am going to mount under the bumper. I added a 10 gauge wire from the engine compartment that is always hot (+12vdc, fused) to power a portable refrigerator in the bed of the truck. My plan is to use a single pole, double throw switch in the cab. Center is off, up will turn on rear fogs anytime, and down will allow them to switch on whenever I shift into reverse. I'll put a sealed relay behind the taillight and control it from the switch. I'll get the power for the lights from the 10 gauge wire. Mike
I'm looking for some about 3" lites for the rear bumper I just made. I want to flush mount them in this 200 lb monster...Anyone have any idea's I want to be able to back into anything and still have lights...
Maybe just cut grilles into it with a plasma?Pictures?
Not water proof! I was thinking someone made lights that were flush mount but I can only find those whimpy cheap back up ones from grote...I need lotsa light for plowing...Pic's when I'm done 6x8 box 1/4 inch wall hit me baby
Hey Pig Pen Jr.
I like the place you mounted them.... I may move mine before the winter and my plowing in reverse kills them.....
They work real good there. They are attached to the hitch bar and are protected from road debris on all sides by either the hitch or the exhaust. I have them pushed way up right now, but when I tow I lower them about an inch so they shine under my trailer a little more. They would work fine where they are now, but i like to be able to see what is under the trailer a little when backing up and they still light the trailer up enough to help when I load my B2 in the dark. It only takes a Phillips screw driver and about 5 min to lower them.
I'm thinking of replacing them with the rubber coated ones we use on the farm trucks (9.99ea at Tractor Supply and you can get a trapezoid or spot style), just because the road salt and crap is already rusting the brackets after only one winter.
You guys that have the White Knight light setup, how are they holding up? I do alot of night hookups on my part time hauling job, and those sure look like the way to go.
