Ok everyone! Let's post which park we would like to go to and we will go to the one most voted for. Then we can post what day we would like to go. I'm so excited!!!!!!!!
Hard Labor park is fine with me. The kids will like playing in the water. NEXT!!!!
June 6th is fine with me. But Old87, shouldn't everybody bring some food and drinks? I would be glad to bring anything we need. What we do as a family is we bring enough for our family, so that might be a good idea. I'll be glad to bring a cake also. I do birthday and special occasion cakes on the side. This sounds so exciting and fun!!!!! Can't wait to meet my fellow FTE'ers.
GrayRanger I plan on bringing my two boys. There will be 4 of us coming all together. Me, my husband and two boys. So I hope ya'll don't mind me saying it's a family thing.
We also need to set up what time to meet there and where in the park to meet. I think Old87 can let us know what shelter as soon as he checks them out.
June 6Th is aight by me, isnt that on a sunday?, not quite for sure, dont have a calender nearby. how long is everyone plannin on stayin? would just be me, i dont have kids, or a significant other, and ill be happy to pitch in on anything that would be needed, if at all possible
This meet and eat is an all out family/friends event.
I hope to bring a pig shoulder smoked the night before to make sandwiches,
my wife is gonna make a big a** bowl of tater salad- the good kind.
Bring family or just yourself and enjoy- I request to know how many so I can
figure on plates and cups which I will provide.
As this will be a family event, I request all that wish to partake of adult drinks be inconspicuous<sp> use a coozie and beware park officials.
I'm trying to think ahead in case the cookin' facilities at the camp ain't up to par.
We also may have to bring the Mecury as my old 87 is having problems with overheating, again.
If ya'll got any questions or answers let me know-
And I really am looking forward to the fellowship.

Anything else you need please feel free to call me also. (706)207-9390-cell phone. Looking forward to the fellowship and the new friendships we will be making.

The last get-together the FTE GAA group had was in Conyers a few years ago. We had a good turnout, and met a lot of good people! I would come to this one, but being 2,000 miles away kind of puts the damper on that anymore...
I hope you all have a great time!!!!!
Make sure Ken (webmaster) knows about the event! It needs to be added to the FTE calendar, plus, he lives in Georgia...
Just got back from Hard Labor State Park- beautiful!!
The grounds are very well kept and I think I found our spot. We took some pics today and I will post or link somehow.
If those from farther out wish to camp on site I would reccomend it.
They have very well kept R.V. and tent sites.
Cindy ( the ball & chain) noted that the restrooms were very clean and had A/C.
One matter of discussion- how would ya'll feel about moving the date to Saturday the 5th ?
This way those that travel farther have a day to recup if needed.
Also church was an issue to the boss...
Anyhow- of all the sites I saw, the one I hope to get has plenty of parking, 3 grills, close facilities etc..- without being too close to the office or other areas.
MENU- (SO FAR) pulled pork pig , baked beans, tater salad, chips.
Iced tea (sweet unless asked) cokes and byob.
Between now and then I'm sure much will be added, the main thing is to bring friends and family ..
