rear brake problem

2001 F150 7700 Intremittent Problem When Shifting Into Reverse. Truck Will Go About4feet Then Stop, Acts As If Brakes Are On
With The Brake Pedal Not Being Pushed. Shift Into Drive Then It Seems To Work Ok, Then Shift Back To Reverse Problem Still There. Drive Forward For A Couple Of Miles Then Ok. This Has Happened 4 Times
Any Suggestion Or Help
Thanks

Does the truck still move in reverse, or does it stop completly? It does sound like your brake shoes are binding up. I would take them off and see what they look like. Might be in need of some shoes and maybe turning your drums.

Hi XXXX402
Ok,ok I guess I shouldn't bug you too much about the first part of your name
I would pull the rotors off the back and take a look at the park brakes. There is a drum inside the rotor and seperate brake shoes for the park brakes.
Lately I've seen quite a few become delaminated...the lining falls off the shoes.
If the lining got jammed up it could cause your problem.
Also take a look at the park brake lever inside the rear brakes to make sure it or the cable isnt hanging up.
Please let us know what you find.
