I'd say '42, '46 or '47. Check for a vin on the tranny bellhousing where it bolts to the block (if the driveline is stock). Looks like a good project.
That white stuff, Carlene, is crystallized sunshine - a special product of northern climes. You can pick it up, play with it, even put it in your pocket! Just try that with southern sunshine!
If it's a '42, look for die cast Ford script on the hood side, if the Ford scipt is stamped in the hood metal, then it's a '44-'47. It could be any year from '42-'47, but chances are slim it's a '43, since there were very very few made, and most went to the War effort. Looks pretty decent, it would make a very unusual project.
the ford script is stamped in the side of the hood it might have been a fire truck or a crash truck mybe 43?
would it have any other birth marks any where that I could look for?
Look for a VIN number on the bellhousing, visible when you pull up the transmission plate in the floor. It'll be at the top of the bellhousing, stamped in. Of course,m this works only if it's the original trans. If not there then take a look on the driver's frame rail, a few inches forward of the firewall, might be something stamped there. It might start with a 3, meaning '43. It'll be just stamped on top of the frame rail, might have to scrape away dirt and grease to find it. Of course, problem is I've never investigated the VIN numbering on Canadian models, so they might be different than the US counterparts. If you can get the wheelbase in inches, and post it here, we can narow down the ton rating for it.
