I have 4400 miles on my new psd. It is nearly time to drain water from the fuel filter. I have read that the fuel drains onto the front cross member. It was recommended to attach a 5/16 inch hose to the water drain line to direct the water into a catch container. This sounds like a good idea, however, I can not locate where the drain line is. Any help in locating this drain line would be appreciated.
Funny you ask, as I just walked in from the garage after draining mine for the first time. The drain tube is located on the right-center half of the engine compartment. If you lay underneath the truck, it is almost inline with the tow hook (maybe a smidge toward center). It is actually a piece of solid tubing (similar to brake line tubing). When you are looking up there, you will actually see two tubing lines (not sure what the other is) but the drain bends straight down after weaving it's way from the fuel filter. I simply used a flexible piece of hose I had and drained it into a large glass so I could see the contents. Mine was fine - no water or junk. It's a snap! One thing to note.....the lever rotates clockwise toward the firewall. Probably obvious, but for some reason I was wanting to turn it down toward the ground?!?! Hope this helps - Good luck!!
Hey, no problem! Glad you found it! This board is great isn't it?! I have found answers to almost every question I can come up with. Good luck and congrats on the new rig!!
