Just thought I would get this on everyones minds again.
Mitch and I still need to work out some details but here is what we have so far:
Mel Hambilton Ford is sponsoring the event in many ways. They are providing the space and other assorted items.
Street Scene Eq. has agreed to be a sponsor again this year.
carstuff4less will also be a sponsor.
I'm working on some other sponsors right now.
If you are tight with some retailers you might check to see if they are interested. If they want to sponsor us in products they can send them to Mitch or I and we'll store them for the show.
We need small goodie bag items. Pens, pencils, stickers, anything little will help.
You guys could hit up your local retailers, shops, etc to get these items.
Help spread the word. Last year we had trucks from Co, KS, OK, TX, MO and NE. We have gotten the word from some TX members that they will be coming again.
We have the space to make this a huge event. All trucks and SUV's are welcome as long as they are Fords. If you been showing your truck you know that it's hard to get a trophy because of the classes. Normally, there is one truck class that combines all trucks. At Fordtoberfest we have trophies for stock truck, mild, wild, custom, engine compartment and many more.
Please help us make this years the best ever.
Thanks,
Jon
PS Rollie could we get this stickied. So it is on the top of the list.
Just so everyone knows, the hotel rooms are set up. There is a negotiated rate at the Holiday Inn Airport (5500 W. Kellogg). Rooms are $60.00 plus tax. This also includes breakfast for two. You can call them at 316-943-2181 or 800-255-6484. This rate is only good until Sept. 22, after that, the unused rooms will be returned to regular inventory.
I will be getting a list of rates for other hotels in the near future for those that the Holiday Inn doesn't fit into their plans.
Jon could I also get a flyer. I have a few people that I have talked to that might be interested in throwing in a few freebies. I have a detail shop that I deliver to that is thinking about throwing in a few complet detail fro free. He does good work I have seen some of it so well worth it.
In order to make this show a success, we will need help, especially with goodie bags, and give-away stuff from sponsors.
Mel Hambelton Ford is sponsoring us the location, and more goodies yet to be named, Im pushing for some free food, but who knows? they have been very kind to us in the past and this year will be no different!
So lemme get the flyer going, and we can get people to make a few copies and place them all over the state, also do some cheerleading in other chapters, like I know Texas has a few that will be coming, maybe Oklahoma, lets get the word out and drum up some regional interest, 1st year we had around 25 trucks, last year we had a little over 50 trucks, this year lets break 100 trucks!
Im in tight with and O'Rielly Ill see what I can do mb even shawnee mission Ford, Any one have an exact date so ii can ask for that day off 5 months in advance?
Do y'all only want truck related goodie bag stuff? If not, get me something in writing. I can get things from the school district and possibly a few other places. Already drumming up stuff for my high school reunion, so added stuff won't be too hard.
