I have an air dryer at my compressor outlet, its one of those large tank-like things (about quart sized),but still get some moisture at my outlet. I'm about to add a plasma cutter, and want the driest air I can reasonably get. Rigging a toilet paper absorber type filter comes to mind...what works well??
My father and I have copper coils inline between the pump and the tank, with a water trap just before the tank. Never have had to drain the tank because the water doesn't make it that far.
The coils is about 1 ft in diameter and about 1 ft high with the tubing coiled closely.
All,
I have made a heat exchanger from a garbage can and a coil of copper tube. I simply put a garden hose in the can and turn on the hose. The air is routed through the copper coil which is submerged in the can. There is a water trap at the lowest point. It drys the air very well. I use it when sand blasting and have not seen any moisture.
