What the heck?

Do any of you guys know what the heck could be wrong with my BRAND New F-150? I got the 4X4 SCREW lariat one week ago and had no problems till this morning when the truck didnt want to start.
Its a little low on fuel with the low fuel level light on, but I went to the gas station and got 2.5 gallons in a portable tank, and put it in. Theres plenty of juice in the battery, made sure the trucks in park. What the heck is wrong?!! theres no toruble shooting guide in the owners manuel?

Thanks guys.

John

If you floor-shifter, make sure its in park. I experience it one morning wondering what D#$%. The transmission was in park position, but it needed to be tapped forward to engage it into that position. Then it started. It scared the cramp out of me. Maybe this will help.

I don't know how long you ran with the fuel low, but a long shot may be to disconnect the positive lead on the battery for a few minutes and see if that may re-set something on the fuel system that may have activated due to low fuel.

Hope to hear that it started for you soon bro

It shouldn't from I have read in previous posts. It is supposed to be a method to re-set error messages. I may do it right now to see if that clears the Tranny Error message that I get every now and then.

See if the owner's manual has any information on changing or disconnecting the battery.

Now as you know from experience...you will loose your memory presets on the radio station, unless they have a backup battery in the radio for that these days.

Good luck either way...I'm off to work now and will check back when I get there to see if you got it started.

I am guessing that since you say it wont start that everything else seems to be working. If that is so check you ground lead to you starter. If it is not tight that might be your problems.
Hope this helps

Have you tried the reseting the fuel disconnect button? something may have jarred it into the closed postion. Its located on the firewall on the passenger side. You need to remove the plastic cover and feel for the button. It hasa rubber grippy feel to it and just push it. Its on the firewall side not too far in front of the passenger door, but you need to look for it cuase its hidden.

Edit- I know people who have jarred it lose when slamming the tailgate or offroading in river bottoms. And it that doesn't work then call the dealership.

Does the engine turn over and not start or it does nothing like a dead battery?
