[updated:LAST EDITED ON 27-May-02 AT 05:04 PM (EST)]I didn't do the Banks, I did the ATS, but here's some info that might help you anyway. The whole thing is pretty easy, putting on the new downpipe is the hardest thing. Get someone to help you, believe me it will save time. I tried to put the new downpipe on myself, struggled for an hour with no luck. Then I got a friend to hold the pipe for me from underneath and it took 2 minutes.
When you remove the old pipes, put some lube on the end of the hanger ends, it will help them slide out of the rubber biscuits. Also the weight of the exhaust is what keeps those hangers from sliding out, so if you push up on the parts to relieve the weight, they slide out easier.
Also removing the stock downpipe can be tricky, you have 2 options:
1 - cut it in half. That's what I did, used a sawzall, took me only a couple minutes.
2 - remove the transmission support crossmember. That means you have to find a jack to support the tranny, and removing the crossmember is a pain. But if you want to keep the old pipe, you gotta do it.
The ATS downpipe is really short, but the Banks downpipe looks longer, like the stock one. If that's the case, then you might have to remove the crossmember anyway to install the Banks.
Also, before you install the new downpipe, open up the marmon clamp (the ring clamp that holds the pipe onto the turbo) all the way, it goes on easier. Good luck & have fun!
William, I live in St.Louis and was thinking about going with the Banks for my truck. Is there any way I could maybe check yours out sometime? If so, send me an e-mail (TKONO(No Email Addresses In Posts!)) Thanks,

Well I'm working nights for the next two weeks so I'll get with you when I'm on my afternoon shift.
I live in Fenton, and work in Kirkwood, but I am all over town throughout the week. I am a roaming mechanic for a painting company. Mine is a 99 F-350 xlt Lariat 4x4 x-cab Dually and I want to spruce it up a little. I'm in no huge hurry though, whenever would be fine.
I installed the Stinger Plus kit on my 99 F 350 4x4, crew cab off road. Took about 2 hours for the exhaust only. The old exhaust came out in one piece. This was no problem as my truck was high enough without jacking it up. The v clamp at the turbo was hard to get off. You will have to drop the cross member at the trans. I used a 2 ton jack but was barely sufficient to take the weight of the trans, transfer case and back of engine. Be careful as this could be dangerous if you loose control of the weight. Lastly, start at the turbo and work back. My son worked at the rear end and I worked at the front. We could not fit the center piece in without taking the tail pipe back off. The center extension has to be cut to fit to proper length. A horizontal band saw cut the stainless with ease.
