The cable itself has no adjustment.
Do you have rear drums or discs? If you have drums you should probably adjust the rear brakes. If you have discs they have a seperate set of brake shoes in a small drum inside the disc and there is a star wheel adjuster in there.
There is a slot for adjusting the park brakes like on any old drum brake system. Pop out the rubber plug on the backing plate and adjust.
I think it might be a good idea to pull the rear brakes apart though and check the park brake shoes. I've seen quite a few of them fall apart lately. The linings delaminate and come off the shoes.
When adjusting the disc parking brake, I learned the hard way that you don't adjust them as you did your old drum brakes. With the inner drum setup on a disc brake, turn the star adjuster all the way until the shoes lock the wheel from turning, then back it out a turn or two. This seats the shoes evenly. If you just adjust it until you feel the shoe touch the drum, you will probably not have both shoes adjusted.
