psd power

What is the power diff between a 96 7.3 psd and a 02 7.3 psd super duty I have a freind that is selling his 96 f250 with 52000 miles for 13000.00 I was wondering if I should pick it up.

The difference in the manufactureres ratings for the two trucks is about 20hp, which can be made up with a few mods.

Here are some stats.
94-97 215hp 450lbft. torque
99-01 235hp 505lbft. "
01-03 250hp 525lbft. " automatic
" " 275hp 525lbft. " manual

hope this is of some help.

The specs you listed for the 1997 are incorrect. The 1997 is 225HP and 480 lb/ft.

There were no PSD's or F250/350 trucks in 1998 except the F250 Light Duty, which is now basically the F150 7700 GVWR package. They continued to produce the 1997's until the redesign of the 1999 was ready for production. You will find E350 vans in 1998 with PSD's, but it is the saem engine in the 1997 trucks.
