micro tuner and egt
My microtuner is on the way. I was wondering how important is having an egt. I have a 2000 F-350 auto tranny I only tow our bobcat about twice a year and probably just change program down to the 60 horse setting if I am towing. I found a pillar set up for 255 with autometer guages included. Is this a good price or are those guages junk. If I need the guages some help with places to buy would great. Thanks Andy

Why run the 80hp program all the time? Just makes you burn more fuel and I think adding strain to the whole drive train when you do not have to. I have the tuner and am just learning when and where to use it. This weekend I will be going to Miami, Florida from the Keys towing my trailer. On Monday I will Post here all the info.

MY RIDE is a white 2000 F350 Super Duty, Lariat with TOL radio and CD, leather electric captian chairs, PSD, 4X4, off road and camper and trailer towing package, long bed with a cap, 4.1 rear gear, automatic, SRW, fender and window flares, HD mud flaps, with added stainless steel 4" exhaust turbo to 5" tip, with a "see thru" muffler and EGT, transmission temperature with turbo psi gauge. Super chips micro tuner. I tow a 12,000 pound 28.6 ft travel trailer.

If you tow with the 60 setting you shouldn't have to worry about EGT's unless you tow extreme loads (even with stock you'd need to worry then). Autometer makes the pillar that most everyone uses but there are many different gauges with different price ranges with Autometer falling in the middle. Call Geno's Garage at 770-886-2500 and ask for their experience with the variety they offer.
