Where is the fuel pump switch?
1996 Ranger XL, 3L, fuel injection, 2WD.
I'm doing a tune-up and just want to replace the fuel filter.
Where is the fuel pump switch? The manual says "Behind the passenger side kick-panel". Hmmm, not knowing exactly what a kick-panel is or if my truck even still has it (some interior parts are missing), I looked and found a couple switches (things with connectors going in them...not really switches) just behind the floor mat on the inside passenger firewall.
1. The one to the right is rectangular with a proper brown wire connector that could easily be pulled down and off.
2. The one to the left starts as a couple of wires coming out of the firewall that go to some bigger device mounted underneath the dash. It looks like the wires could be disconnected if I wanted.
Anyone got a picture of the thing? My Haynes manual isn't very good.

Never mind, I found it. It's the rectangular box with the button on top (reset switch). I've read some threads here and agree it would make a good kill switch. I may try to rig something in the next few days. If I do I'll post some pictures.
