Does 2005 6.0L PSD Have More Torque - Maybe?

I was looking through the PDF file that is available for ordering a new 2005 Excursion. There was a link on one of the threads. As I was reviewing the PDF file, I noticed the following information for the 6.9L PSD motor option.

Here it is:
TORQUE
ENGINE DISPL. H.P. @ RPM FT. LB. @ RPM
5.4L V8 Electronic 4-Speed Auto O/D 9.0:1 255 @ 4500 350 @ 2500
6.8L V10 Electronic 4-Speed Auto O/D 9.0:1 310 @ 4250 425 @ 3250
6.0L V8 PSDŽ Elect 5-Speed Auto O/D 18.0:1 325 @ 3300 570 @ 2000

According to my old information brochure, my 2003 Excursion with the 6.0L PSD motor makes the same HP, but only 560/lbs of torque. I have not gone outside to look at the engine build sticker to verify, but am I right, or wrong that there is an increase of 10 pounds of torque for 2005 motors?

Thanks,

Jeff

Hey Cruisen Phantom....

Ten pounds is ten pounds!!!

As the big three try to beat each other each and every year, I just noticed the increase. I'm sure it means squat in the real world, but I noticed the difference and wanted to pass along to all.

You may not care, but others might??

Find me a women with 10 more pounds of torque and I'll show you a "happier guy"!!!!

Thanks,

Jeff

We all know it depends on where that extra 10#'s of torque is.

Doesn't make any sense. At least two spots on the front page it clearly states 560 ftlb of torque then 570 ftlb back in the specs. I gotta admit Beachbumcook, I did giggle a bit after reading the line in your post "only 560/lbs of torque". Kinda reminds me of a lottery ad where a guys friends were maknig fun of him for playing, and winning, the lottery when the jackpot was "only 10 million". Waddya want man??? Wheelies?

Regards,

Morris

Mobandy,

What I meant was did the torque increase or not?

I like my torque of 560, but are the new 2005's increasing to 570?

As Ford tweaks these trucks with more torque or HP (not sure), it does shed light on what the motor can take or produce (with or without mods).

Thanks,

Jeff

I'm sure Ford will up the numbers more than that. I just don't think they want to tip off GM and Chrysler as to how much they'll up the numbers.

Why is the gasoline engines power in the X less than what it is in the trucks? And I thought everything was getting the Torqshift? And I bet Ford will produce more power than Gm and DCX, I'd put money on it.
