Air pump... another question.
I have a Canadian '83 F100 with a 302. It has an air pump and no CAT... don't think it ever had (it hasn't had a CAT for the 7 years I have owned it). If I take the drive belt off the air pump, will there any problems... or benifits?

If you don't have emissions testing there (or a cat for that matter) I would think it would be ok to take it off. Check out this thread https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...d.php?t=235939 for more info.

It'll be ok, but all light duty vehicles since 75 or 76 came from the factory with cats, except for diesels. Only trucks 8600lbs or over didn't come with cats till 87 or so.
even without a cat, the AIR pump will reduce emissions. I'd _remove the belt_ to unhook it. Don't take the whole system out because you might have to hook it back up someday.
