Could somebody help out a newbie????

Hey guys we have a 2000 F350 superduty crewcab with Powerstroke here at the office. The truck has intake and full exhaust with a chip (I'm not sure what kind). We took it to the dealer cause the front brakes needed servicing and the ABS light was on along with the overdrive light flashing at random.

Anyway, now that your caught up here is my prob.... The dealer fixes the brakes, no prob there. They fix the rear wheel speed sensor which was causing the abs light to stay on. Here is the tricky part, there was a code (dealer said it was P06015) that the guy says wont clear. They said they had to replace the computer(PCM) to fix it so they do that. The dealer said that the book says if that code isnt a certain thing (which is wasnt) that the manual says to replace the pcm. Great so now my chip doesnt work cause they replaced my computer with a new one.....Here is the funny part, his brother just so happends to have equipment to "reflash" the kind of chip that I had and he'll reflash it for me pretty cheap.

Is this guy screwing me about the computer so he can make some $ on the side reflashing my chip???

Oh yea, the overdrive light is still freaking flashing so what every they did it didnt work. I'm starting to get ill and I feel like I got took.....for $1264.82!!!! The last we had heard the bill was only like $700, but when we pick up the truck its a different story.

Dang guys, I'm sorry that was so long, I'm just upset at all this.

Can someone please give this newbie some advice???
Thanks,
STEPHEN

The flashing overdrive means that the transmission is not happy about something. Mine had a flashing OD indicator when the rear axle speed sensor was not working, and sending erroneous speed codes to the tranny.

It would have been better to remove the chip befor sending the truck in for repair. Sounds like they flashed you chip then took it when the OBC "seemed" to be bad. If you had extended insurance it may havw been covered everything dependiong if you did not exceed 100,000 miles......Richard

Correct me if I'm wrong but it sounds like you paid for the new computer. If so then make them give your old one back. It is yours isn't it? If the warranty paid for it then it is theirs but if you paid for it it is yours.
