headlight switch
on my 2000 ford ranger, the head light switch goes parking/then to full head lights. but now it does not stop there it goes past the headlight part and when it does this the headlights go out and the pre key on lights come on and the fuel pump kicks on. it is almost like the stop or a wire got crossed?? could it be in the headlight switch itself??

. Interesting malfunction! The headlight switch should not keep going past the full headlight position. Even though yours has really interesting side effects, I'd say replace the switch.
