Motor mounts

Hello I went to my local parts store to get motor mounts for my truck, (81 F250 4X4 that had 351m in it) I am almost ready to put in the 460 that I pulled out of a 76 mercury marquis just need headers and motor mounts. The guy said that he could not find the 460 in the computer for the truck??? What year of trucks had the 460? Are all 80to86 frames the same?
Thanks.

You need engine mounts from an 83 up 460, two wheel drive or 4x4 it does not matter, and they are the same mounts for both sides. You will need the frame mounts too if your using the factory rubber mounts. The 460 engine mounts have two studs coming from them instead of one like the 351M used.

And there are engine mounting plates that fasten to the block then the rubber mount bolts to them.

And yes the frames are the same.

I did this same swap on my 82 3/4 ton 4x4.

Can these mounting plates be purchased at any automotive store?

460 Where 302 used to be

I am going to be putting an early carburated 460 into my 83 F150 where a 302 now sits. I intend to go to a wrecking yard to pull the motor mounts and towers from a 460, that way I know I will be getting everything I need to make the swap. Will I have to change the tranny cross member or will the one from the 302/AOD work ( may have to move it back some?). Also I have looked and found headers that will fit the 83-87 F250's and F350's. Im sure these will drop into the F150 frame with little or no problem. Is there anything else I may be forgetting? Any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated BEFORE I dive off into this project, and thanks in advance!

I have a NP 435 tranny and did have to get a bell housing. I purchased the frame mounts from ford and bought new motor mount from an autopart store. Now I need an adapter to bolt the mounts to the block as my block is a 79. I have not had any luck finding this adapter. Everything is fitting perfectly without needing to move the crossmember..

You could get motor mount from L & L or someone else I just prefer to use the stock equipment in case I need to replace anything in the future.

Here is a link of someone who did it a a bronco http://ylobronc.users.superford.org/...ckets_JPG.html.

If I could just find these brackets I would be set!!!!!!! Anyone??????
