I'm building a screened in porch and need an electric stapler to attach the screen. I've looked at the arrow and craftsman electric staple/brad nailer at sears. Anybody have any advice? Air is not an option.
I have one of each and for staples they are ok,but for brads they are both junk, and one other thing to point out, staples rust so you mihgt want to think about a two part framing for your screens, one it will hold your screening with no staples and two if one gets torn it will be easier to replace.
Hi,
I have the Swingline electric (?) Stapler/ brad nailer and
I've had it for several years. It works okay for what it is but nothing to rave about.
Also it was mentioned that staples rust and they sure do and make a mess. Should there there be a marine supply store around check and see if they carry monel staples used for boats, there're expensive, don't rust, stainless is better than mild steel, but stainless is just that "stainless". Low grade stainless can rust.
I re-done my screened porch last year. I rescreened it with the two part track system. It worked great. I would highly recommend it. It was easy to install and looks great. It took longer to pull all of the old staples out than it did to rescreen.
