advance until it runs well! seriously, advance it to about 12 for a mild-med cam. With a slighter hotter cam, you may go even farther. I'm running about 16 BTDC. Just keep listening for pinging at the higher revs. Are you running a stock or Ford distributor with the MSD, or are you running the MSD billet FE distributor?

The MSD Dizzy, does not have the vacuum advance. From what I understand, it really likes to have a higher initial advance.
Do you know what springs and stop bushings are in there? Do you have the manual and the other sprigs and bushings? It' pretty easy to change those and get a different advance ramp and max advance setting.
