Installing some new gauges....

I got my gauges today from Summit and I'm now waiting on the dash pod to get here so I can install them. I got a oil pressure, water temp, and vacuum.

For the oil pressure gauge I guess it will be okay to install a tee where my turbo pulls from? It's on the right bottom of the block near the bellhousing. Do I need to purge the air out of the gauge tubing? I figure I could just cut it to the right length and seal the end in a ziplock bag and start the engine and shut it off real quick. Is this necessary?

I'm having a hard time trying to find a place to stick the water temp probe. I've heard people say there is a place on the driver's side block, but I can't seem to locate it exactly. I don't want to just pull any plug. Also, the temp installation says to hook one terminal "To ignition switch". I guess this means something that is on whenever the truck is either switched on or running, right?

Thanks for any help.

I picked up a tee today for the oil gauge to pickup where the turbo pulls from. Any help with locating the water temp. port would be appreciated. I would like to keep the stock gauge functional if possible. I'm expecting my mounting pod any day now....

I got my water temp gauge installed the other day and was finally able to test it today. I installed it in the side of the head in place of the stock high temp warning plug. It takes about five minutes to get up to 200*. Out on the interstate driving 70-80 it would sometimes creep up to about ~220* and then the thermostat would open and it would move back down to 190-200.

Does it sound like I might need a new thermostat? I am running a little low on coolant. When I pulled the plug out, enough water drained out of the radiator to get it down to the first fin down inside. I'm getting some to fill it back up tomorrow. Just didn't have time today. I'll see what the temps do after I top it off.
