Small welder and compressor??

Need a wire feed, Should I Get the one with a tank???
I will be using it for welding up some mirror holes, stakebed holes and lights on top of the cab...I have an ARC welder that I am not very good at...

When I get a compressor, will a larger one from Sears or Home Depot run an orbital sander for body work???
Thanks for the info!!!

Mike

Tank, Yes, get C-25 for it. Hobart makes a good little shop mig that is affordable
an HH-175, it's 230v. I bought one last fall and have been very happy with it so far.
Using gas will leave a clean weld, unlike using flux core wire or stick welds.
By the way, Hobart is made by Miller... http://www.hobartwelders.com/
They have a forum that is loaded with good info.

compressor... get at least a 60 gal tank.
The direct drives are extremely noisy, go with a belt drive.

just my 2¢

On your compressor, just be sure to look at your cfm rating @90 psi. Compare it to the rated usage of the sander you want to run. That is what you would have to have for continuous use of the sander. With a large tank, you will be able to get by with less cfm per minute. Most compressors in the literature with them will tell you what they will run.
