radio

i have a 2000 7.3 f-250. I need to remove the radio. There is 4 holes, but no screws. How do i remove it?

There is a special, U-shaped tool (Looks like a bent peice of wire) that fits into two holes at once, and you use two of the tools. These disengage clips which will then allow you to pull the radio straight out. You need to buy the tools, maybe at an Auto-Zone, or a Stereo installation shop. All late model Fords use the same tools.

Wal mart actually carries the tools in the automotive section. A couple of pieces of coat hanger work too.

how do i bend the coat hanger and does it matter which two holes

use 4 nails that fit, push in about a 1/4 of an inch, and work radio out evenly.use all 4 holes

you just need to use all four holes to disengage all 4 clips. I had to shove the special tools in, and then push the ends outwards to get the radio to come out. Then just unhook everything on the back and you're done.
