I know that I have read several post on verious boards about temps and have heard never over 1250 but now I am reading that is 1250 pre turbo and 950 post. But on Ford Truck Enthusiasts I read 1250 post turbo. Can someone please enlighten me. And is it better pre or post?
Also I have heard the gauge refured to as both a Pyrometer and a Exhaust temp gauge. And when looking in the Auto Meter catalog I see both listed is there a differance? And if so what is it?
I will be installing it and a boost gauge on a 99 F350 CC DRW 4x4
thanks for all your help.
I have changed a couple of probes that had the end broken off. Vibration, age or ?, I don't know why they failed. I do know that if they had been pre-turbo, it would have more expensive. Your temp ranges are inline with what I have read about the PSD. The big inline 6's seem to handle heat better becuase I have a lot of miles
on Cat's and Cummins at 1200 degrees, post turbo with no problems.
