Question Oil Guard Filter

Anybody install the Oil Guard filtration system yet. I just rec'vd mine last night and will be installing it this weekend. I noticed I did not receive the mounting bolts to install the unit on the chassis, it that normal, if so what size bolts do I need to buy? Also how much make up oil do I need to add after the install? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You're going to have to find a good place to install the Oil Guard filter and head assembly. You must provide your own mounting bolts.

I fabricated a bracket on the inside frame rail and mounted the filter horizontally.
Pick a spot, drill, bolt, fab, whatever it takes.........

Nice and neat mount. How much oil pours out while you change filter?

The way I have my Oil Guard positioned and hoses routed adds a little over a quart to the system.

When changing the oil, I pull the plug on the oil pan, then remove the stock filter. Then I move the drain pan underneath the Oil Guard housing, slowly unscrew and let it drain. Not messy at all on horizontal mounting.

I decided to mount it horizontally in the frame rail to provide maximum ground clearance and protect the hoses and assembly from any potential clearance issues.
