Door Ajar

I have a 97 Expedition. I had a problem where the door ajar light came on, and stayed on. After opening and closing all of the doors numerous times the light finally went out. The problem was never found as all of the doors were closed tight when the light came on. Now the problem has reappeared. This time the light won't go out. Not only that but the dome, and running board light stay on with the key off. I temporarilly pulled the fuse for the lights, and tried every door, and the rear hatch/ glass combo a hundred times. Still says door ajar. I can't find the door switches, so I assume they are rigged to the latches inside the door. Anyone ever have this problem before??

I think it is going to go ionto the dealer on saturday.

Probably the trigger switch or latch in the door.
Some people talk about using half can of WD-40 to get it back to normal.

I just bought a used 2001 F350. Same thing. Took the advice of the WD-40, and so far so good. Some claim the problem to return after dust collects on spray
