cold weather starting

me again,

i live in northern new york state where winter temperatures can go as low as -30 f..

what can i expect for cold starting difficulties??

cold weather starting

I live in Fairbanks AK and we get temps that can get down to -60 F. I would suggest putting a block heater in it and maybe even a trickle charger on the batteries. Do you have one of the idle control boxes that Ford has?? That may be another option to look into.

the truck came with a block heater.. when will i need it??

cold weather starting

Use the block heater whenever it gets below freezing. The truck should start without it at those temperatures but it will warm up a lot quicker and the oil will flow better, sooner with the block heater.

Get a timer so that the heater starts about 3 hours before you need the truck. This will keep you from wasting electricity. For those really cold nights, just let the block heater go all night.
