Use silcone gasket maker ,and you better chk the tag on the rear diff for lube reqirments.also if its a ls /unit in there you need friction modifier to add to the lube.

99 whats up.. i havent posted on this board in over a month.. hows it been going.... anyway heres my experiance... i would rather have a gasket.. thats my OPINION.. however i did get a gasket when i ordered and installed new gears... and it had a slow leak.... the other 20 times ive re-sealed up my rear end with gasket maker.. it never leaked?

There is no gasket. Use sealer. Royal Purple is OK, no additive needed but you need the 85w140 weight.

There are plenty of gaskets but none of them work very well. You will still need the friction modifier with royal purple. Only Amsoil eliminates the need for fm.
