Crossing Streams in PSDs
Thanks for the help!

And Hard. I was on a dirt bike one time crossing a stream when the back tire slipped sideways on some moss. The bike went sideways down into the water and when it sucked a little in, it sounded like it had been hit with a sledge hammer. I never did bother rebuilding it, good thing for disposable Honda's

This is more important with dsl vs. gas because the dsl is compression ignited. A gas motor will usaully stop running before it gets a good dose of water down the intake because the spark plugs will get damp first.
I use to cross river headlight deep with my 91 F-250 (4" lift with 36" military humvee tires) with the stock breather with the air intake hose removed, and never any trouble.
Keep in mind with a dsl that just 1 measuring cup full of water down the intake will trash the motor.
My had no turbo either. So I don't know what the consequences of fill the intercooler and turbo with water would be.

I don't know if there are any breather ports down low on the PSD. Nor am I sure about the impact of soaking the lower alternator.
Yes, the obvious things to avoid are getting in so deep that you suck air into the intake, also good to note that drivers don't do well submerged for long periods of time.
I've used my X in flash flood situations. Two feet of fast moving water can make things very interesting for you.

It is a good idea to get the proper size line and run all the vents lines up higher than any water you indend to cross.
