oil pan replacement
Hello I just replaced my oil pan on my 1990 f150 4x4 (rusted out)
What a pain in the butt.Well any ways after setting the engine back down on the motor mounts I was wondering if the engine needs to be lined up somehow. All I did was jack the motor up enough to get the pan out and then set it back down.thanks mike

Same thing happened when I replaced the oil pump on our 1995 Ford F150 and when I tried to lower the engine down. The motor mount on the driver side would not line up and the large bolt would not go through. The passenger side motor mount large bolt aligns fine.
I have to raise up the engine again and this time loosen the 3 bolts that hold the metal bracket for the motor mount on to the engine side so that when I slowly lower the engine, I can align the large bolt into the motor mount hole.
Once both large bolt of the motor mount is aligned, I then then tightened up the 3 bolts that hold the metal bracket for the motor mount on to the engine and then lower the engine all the way down and then tighten up the two large motor mount bolts.
