429 trans

will a 429 bolt to a 351 trans

Yes, it will to a 351M but not a 351C or W.

The 351M/400 engines were found in mid-late 70s trucks. They are much larger than a 351C or W. What vehicle did the 351 come from? If it came from a truck it isn't a C. It could either be a W or an M depending on the year. Distinguishing between the two isn't very hard once you see it.

The top two bolts on the bell housing will be 7-3/4" center-to-center on a 351/400m and a 429/460.

The 351w has the bolts spaced 5" c-to-c
