Shopping for a diesel

Hi everyone,
I am thinking about buying a new truck to tow my center console boat. The boat I have now only weighs about 4500lbs but I plan on a bigger boat for the future. I have not really made up my mind about what brand to buy and would like some feedback on positives and negatives of the major brands. I have heard some bad reports from the duramax and was wondering if the new 6.0l psd might have better reliability. I have never owned a diesel before and want a truck that will last. Thanks.

Buy a SuperDuty with the current 7.3L. It's tried and proven. The new 6.0L will take a couple years to get all the bugs worked out.

I agree, the 7.3 is proven and very reliable. You can expect 300,000 plus miles on the life of the PSD, and I have personally spoken to a few people that have gotten 1,000,000+ miles on it. Maintain it properly and it will take you anywhere. Every manufacture will have its problems from time to time, Ford is no exception, but all in all it is my belief that the PSD is the best on the road today. Good luck in your decision.
