Wheel spacers

Anybody run wheel spacers up front to clear radius arms? I'm tired of listening to my 31x10.5's on a stock height 87 rub. Maybe this thing can turn even tighter. Are spacers tougher on wheel bearings?

I never have just because I don't want to lose any thread depth on the wheel studs. Sounds to me like a perfect excuse to go for those aftermarket wheels you may have been wanting. The stock wheels have about 4.5" of backspacing. You can lose an inch of that and not stick the tires out from under the truck. 3.5" backspacing is much more common especially on aftermarket wheels. Also helps with stability if you ever decide to lift it.

Yeah, you're right but I'm also pretty cheap. I don't mind the stock wheels and thought spacers plus extra length wheel studs would be a cheap option. I was just fishing to see what size spacer it would take to be rub free at steering lock, one of the neatest things for me on these trucks is the way they can cut a turn inside my wife's Camry.

Hehehehe, well yeah when you get a truck with a steering setup that was designed to work under the F-350 crew-cab longbed and still have a decent turning radius, you KNOW its gonna be "tight" under a truck about half as long. If you are set on the spacers, I'd park the truck with the wheel hard overand see how much "squish"you have where the tire meets the radius arm. You should be able to get a fair idea as to how much additional depth you might need.
