I'm doing a full custom interior job on my 87 F150 and am having a hard time finding brackets for my seats. I already bought the DVD player, pioneer 8" screen, the whole nine yards. The seats are from AirDynamicRacing.com Any suggestions on where I can find brackets that will drop into my OEM bench seats holes (obviously i'll have to drill the other 2 holes for each seat) and then have my seats bolt on?
you will probally have to drill new holes for all seats or another thing I just thought of that may work.
You have 2 rails for your bench seat, one one each side. Take those rails off & then get 2 more rails off another bench seat out of a salvage yard. Hell it might just work.
Hey Custom87,
Try this. If you are still in touch with your original bench seat, take it to a metal fab shop and have them design a frame assy that rises at the right and left side of the cab floor. The rise is required to clear the floor and tran hump, which is more flat than the name implies. If these fab guys are worth their salt, with a little measuring, some 1 1/2" steel angle and flat bar, this is a easy fab. Remember, the EXACT template of your needs is right there in front of you with that old seat. All you have to do is come up with the attachment method for the new seat your installing, which is likley a dual slide rail with (4) downward protruding 5/16" studs, (per seat). I just performed this install in my 87', and they fit like a glove. good luck
