Fuel pump amps??

Question Fuel pump amps??
Hi, how many amps should a fuel pump draw? in a 1990 B2 2.9 4X2 in tank type? My fuel pump relay went bad am thinking the fuel pump is going south also. It draws about 5.0 amps. I put a new fuel pump in my ford diesel, it only draws 1.82 amps.(but its a low pressure pump)

I don't know the specification but the pump is on a 30 amp fuse.

I've heard that 5 amps is a good value. For comparison, the pump in my Explorer draws ~3 amps.
