Does SAE 60 oil sound correct? That is on the tag, thanks.
the black **** is what i'm talking about, get a small troothbrush and some soap, a pad of paper & pen
remove the black ****, count the number of turns when you loosen it, write it down.make a alinement mark before removing.
next remove spring
loosen shaft nut.
you should be able pull the assembly out.
now inspect seal, seat, and plunger, and the clean, hope hopefully it just has junk build up, tell me if you find any damage. reassemble. see if this works. if not then disassemble the two cap bolts, inspect then clean. reassemble.
this is a rebuildable pump. parts are still avaible.
let me know what you find.
The black **** had a set screw. There was a roll pin in the shaft below the ****. When I put it back together, I noticied that you can move the shaft down about 1/8 inch. This is before I put the spring and **** back on. I cleaned it up without taking it totally apart. I am pretty sure it is clean.
Anyway, I tried it and got a couple of pulses that it was starting to build pressure but that was it. Water is coming out at line pressure. I took off the two large caps on top of the pump. What the item is below them doesn't want to come out and I didn't try to force them. What is the part for that sticks out of the pump end? It looks like has an adjusting screw but has no ****. Thanks
