1994 F-150 300-6 5spd 4x4 XL trim dual tanks
When I came home from work this morning, I shut my truck off, and I heard a beeping coming from under/behind the dashboard. 5 beeps, then a pause, then 5 beeps. what the hell is it? anyone know? I thought it might have ben the ECU/PCM, but it sounded more behind the guage pod, any help is appreciated.
But I have the same thing going on. It started after I ripped the stock stereo out & put in a alpine CD player. I just assumed that it was the radio doing it as a security feature but then again that radio didn't do it in my Lincoln.
I also recently replaced my stereo with a pioneer unit. the deck beped, and I pulled the faceplate off, but then the dash beeeped. maybe it was the headunit. sure didn't sound like it though. different note, and speed.
Wow, that's really weird. The only thing I can think of is some security feature that the truck has. Not much of an Anti-theft device, that's for sure.
Anyway, I put in my stereo and head unit, and I can't say I've had this problem, the only suggestion I have for you, is to pull off the battery cables for 1/2 an hour and then putting them back on. This beeping might be some signal that the truck has for you to "reset" itself. Only a thought, hope it helps.
Sounds like the air bag audible alert. If there's a problem with the air bag system and the air bag light isn't working, the module under the dash will beep in a series of 5 beeps at a time. You'll need to first get the light working, then the beeping will stop. Once the light is working, it will flash out a code to identify where the problem is.
I get the 5 sets of 5 beeps too. It started after I hit 200,000 miles and turned it off. The next time I started the car the beeps started too. They also start randomly while driving. Any ideas?
That definitely sounds like the airbag module to me, my buddies truck has a problem with the right crash sensor and flashes code 21, and then his bulb burned out and the most annoying beep start in the dash. Replaced the airbag indicator light and beeping went away.
Five beeps is the airbag module indicating a loss of power. Check your fuses and make sure that you use a wiring adapter to install any aftermarket radio. This keeps you from cutting the wrong wire.
