Well, I've tried a million times to post a pic here on my thread. But I'm too stupid to figure it out. So, if you all would please be kind enough to go to my gallery....here's my question:
If you look at my 2 brake drums, one has the 5 lug holes and 5 other holes drilled out. The other has the 5 lug holes, 2 drilled out holes, and 3 what looks to be pilot holes. What's that for?
Also, about the spindles...when I was cleaning mine to paint, I uncovered Daisy's original Goldenrod Yellow painted neatly on the outside bearing housing of the spindles (the part where the hub is tapped into place covering the castlenut & cotter pin). The rest of the spindles were black, front and back. Did all spindles come with body color on the outside bearing housing?
Paint cans can be filled up with just about anything, My paint connection (Buddy in a paint store) has a spray can filler. I have had several of my cars paint mixed and put into touch-up brush bottles and spray cans and a pint or so in a can to be put into a gun for future. ask at the local auto paint store if they have the capability to do that for you. if not let me know and I will ask about pricing from him and see if we can get you some
This is kind of a shot in the dark about the holes. The previous owner may have been drilling new holes for one reason that I can think of. I'm not sure but my guess would be that he wanted some new rims that were a different bolt pattern. I know they are both 5 lug but there could be some differences among manufacturers and how far apart the holes are. Again, Im not sure about the differences.
DAN.
