Air intake information
I got an intake that runs from the front grill to the air box off of a 6 cyl truck a couple months ago and it made such a loud howling sound when you really reved the truck. I thought it was from the accordian shapes where it makes the corner to go into the air box. Anway I found another one in the junkyard just like it that didn't have the humps where it makes the corner and the sound is now gone! The new one also has tabs like the ones it has on the side that goes into the air box so it snaps into the frame up by the radiator instead of having the metal tab that secures with a bolt. It is all out of the way and nice. I didn't want the one that went up on top of the radiator frame so I was pretty happy to find this one. It is also much better than the stock one I had that had the flap inside of it and the intake hole the size of a 50 cent coin.
