What is the difference between posted and non-posted ecz-g heads? Which is better? Thanks in advance
I would like to know this as well. I am not sure what posted and non posted is. I do know that their are ecz-g heads that have a big G cast into the bottom of them and some that do not. Is that what posted and non posted is? I don't know witch is better. If you don't find your answer here than try asking at Y-blocksforever.com
I'll try there if I don't get an answer but hopefully I'll get one here. At the risk of lookin stupid I'll throw my guess out there. I was thinkin that the posted part ment the posts for the vavle covers maybe, but I really have no idea.
all heads built after may 1 57 are posted.the post is cast in under the combustion chamber roof.when they brought out the superch, engines the pressure would cave the head in.it,s not important on stock engines.
Be careful with any G head. They are the thinnest of the batch and prone to cracking, many have already had a cleanup cut making another one iffy.
On top of that a G head on anything reasonably hot will require 89-93 octane if you have the tiing optimized.
I prefer -C heads for general truck use. Lower cr, bigger chambers keeps the torque down where trucks like it. Several others in the 56-9 era are good also.
