Right - the 460 High Performance badges I got are not for F100's. I believe they are from a Thunderbird, as they have the Thunderbird insignia under the 460 - looks real kool. I think they'll look nifty in my 4" cowl induction hood that'll be installed later this year....
Bear45/70 - I got my 460 Hi Performance badges on eBay for $25.00, I think they were for an earlier '70's model...when T-birds had the High Performance engines in them. The guy who sold them on eBay didn't list what year they were from.....I find them available about once a month on eBay....
Well, I checked with Karcrafters and the Cobra Club and several other places and nobody has them and they don't think they will be getting any either. Maybe if there was enough interest on the forum we could get a special run done by somebody. Anyone know who ever made them?
Hmmmm - funny you should say that. First "new" car was a '63 Galaxie 500 convert - gold - 390 4-sp w/ hd suspension and NO p/s or p/b. Had cool 390 badges, but 460's hadn't been invented yet (or I'd have had one!)
The website that Bear 45/70 mentioned earlier has one that looks like the ones that came on the Mach I. It measures 3-1/4 x 7/8. I emailed them a pic of a 427 badge off a Torino hood scoop to see if it looks the same. Waiting to here back from them.
