1960 Bed Bodywork

With a big hammer!!
Seriously though, I had a body man look at mine, it has the same problem.
He told me he could hammer it out and get it fairly straight!
So I'm pretty sure it can be done, although I have'nt started on it yet.
The first couple feet forward from the tailgate is where I've seen most of these beds sag. A weak spot for sure to say the least!

My parts truck has a bed on it with the most perfect straightest floor I'll probably ever see, but the problem is the previous owner had the rear end jacked up and it sat like that for years outside.
So everytime it rained, the water ran toward the front of the bed next to the cab, so it's all rotted out along the front part of the bed!
If it was'nt for that, it is a very nice bed!
I wonder if a guy could cut out a section clear accross the bed & graft a section on from another simular bed without too much problems?
The other bed I have is beat to heck but the front section of the floor is fine.
Cut & graft?
Probably more trouble than it's worth!
Has anyone ever tried that???
