I just tried it today. Sucked it in through the brake vacuum hose, put some in the ol' gas tank, and a little bit (bout 1/3 of a pint) into the crankcase. I'll probably be getting an oil change this week, but I'm excited to see the results of this Sunday afternoon science fair project.
ok this sounds like a more expensive way to clean the valves and runners. why don't you just use ATF fluid instead of the seafoam stuff. it smokes as well and has all sorts of detergents so i think it works the same for less money. this doesn't clean the injectors either if such a thing can be done, i have heard of stuff that you can connect to the shrader valve on the fuel rail to go through the injectors, i wanna try that if it is possible.
There's to much pressure in your fuel rail to force anything into it from a can with your engine running. That shrader valve is for checking fuel pressure only. If your running good quality 93 octane fuel in your truck, that stuff's already jam packed with detergents and the injectors shouldn't normally need cleaning.
hahaha yeah right, in no way will i ever put any 93 octane in this piece of junk. it's a 95 mustang, it doesn't deserve it. i am broke as hell also. somebody told me there was a thing that could be hooked to the shrader valve, not sure if he was BSing or if the car had to be off but whatever, i don't think that is the problem anyway.
who would treat it with pride when nobody can find out what is the deal with it, it is a piece of junk 3.8, i got a 5.0 that i love. v6's are supposed to get good mileage, the 3.8 is the sorriest excuse for an engine. and like i said, i go to college and have 0 extra money. it needs, 3 tires, 1 showing wires and 2 very bald ones, 1 known balljoint, 2 mufflers, a radio, electronical fixing or whatever is wrong with the motor. that may be it. i have put more work and money into this than i do with friends and such.
yeah, there IS something that is designed to be hooked to the schrader valve....it's called the fuel feed for a Nitrous set up. That's the only thing you use that for other than testing fuel pressure. And Nitrous WILL make you nice and speedy. Had mine hooked up and racing for a while
I thought 3M or somebody made a fuel injector cleaning kit that has a pressurized can of cleaner that plugs into the fuel rail somewhere??? I guess you disable your fuel pump and your vehicle runs on the cleaner until the can is empty. I remember my older brother used to do this on a 89 Probe when it would start to develop a hesitation during acceleration. He always raved about the stuff. We were just talking about it recently and he said Autozone or Adavnce, one or the other, would loan you the kit if you purchased the can of cleaner. I don't remember where he connected it. Are there other points of connection to the fuel rail other than the Schrader valve?
This is what your talking about, your better off taking your truck to the dealer and having them due a fuel injection clean. I think even Jiffy Lube has this.
4th cleaner from the top of the page. Canned cleaner through the fuel rail system. Although they don't claim it to be any better than any other Pour-in cleaner they sell.

I must agree that the mid 90's Mustang 3.8's were the most pointless things ever made, inside and out. I tested one for a week a WHILE ago, and the friggin' thing stopped running before I got it back to my 'buddy.' He was ****ed, but it wasn't my fault in the end.
Every other mechanics shop and product I've found on the internet are basic 3 step systems and non of them use the fuel rail. Probably cheaper just to replace your injectors than to buy the freakin' kit. I just got done looking on the internet and couldn't find anything else accept for those obove products. Everything else is either introduced through the intake vac or through the gas tank. I think you guys are beating a dead horse here.
Nice find with the search engine, but what does the basic kit include? And I didn't see a price? Or are you saying that you'd just like AutoZone to loan you the kit?
