I'm planning on going for a 2 week (or so) road trip next month. I'm starting in MA, going to VA, and then to wherever. Havn't really decided where to go, but theres going to be the grand nationals in OH that week, might go to that. Any thoughts on some good places to visit on a road trip? We're kinda looking for cool automotive stuff vs going to something like mount washington or whatever but anything interesting is what we're after. Any ideas?
Well if you head to Kansas City you might be able to get a tour of the KC Ford Plant. They just started doing tours again. Not sure where other F150s are made on the East Coast.

They make the F150 here in VA Beach. Don't know if they do tours, though. The bike classic is coming in a week or so... I'll get some details if it will help.

If your a racing fan try to stop by Race City USA aka Mooresville, NC.
Alot of the major race teams are set up there & give tours. Including DEI, it is located about 6 miles out of town on hwy 136. they even have the racing hall of fame there.
the rock hall is open year round... there are weekly concerts... I saw U2 perform there when I went last time...twenty bucks to get int he door, and I got to see a bad that normally charges $150 for tickets pretty sweet...
If you go down to Florida, then go to ocular and see Big Daddy Don Garlits (sp) drag racing museum. And if you ever come to Arkansas, go to petty jean mountain car museum, very awesome place.
I'll be honest with you, Justin, if you take the advice of all the folks here on FTE, your road trip could take months, not weeks. There are so many incredible site in this country that you can't possibly see them all in one trip. You should figure out what it is you want to do and then plan your trip around that. Personally, I just enjoy being on the road. There is some solitude in driving for me. I have seen a huge chunk of this country over the years, and there is still millions of things left. Some of my favorites are the Rockies, the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and the desert at sunrise.
I hope you have a terrific trip and can post some pictures for us- so we can live vicariously, so to speak!
