Need 302 real cheap.

Hi all:

It's been a long time since I was an active member here. I had to sign on as a new user this afternoon.

Anyway. I've got a 1978 E-150 with a 315W Edelbrock 600cfm carb, and duel plane intake manifold, Dynomax headers and Flow Master muffler with 3 inch exhaust.

The engine has around 275,000 miles on it and it recently kicked the bucket.

The engine runs but after warm up makes horrible clanking sounds, looses oil pressure at idle, and has a hard time running.

I'm thinking it's time for a replacement.

I'd like to install a 302 with an oil pan for a 1979 E-150. I know my intake manifold won't fit and motor mounts need replacing.

I work for a school district in Woodland, WA and live in Vancouver, WA.

I'm looking for a running 302 cheap. REALLY cheap. I'm not a teacher so I don't make a lot of money so cheap is the word.

I'm currently using my girlfriend's dad's van, also an E series (E-250).

I've decided I can't afford at the moment to replace my van because it's wheelchair accessible so I can use it and it costs a bunch of money to replace such equipment. The van I'm borrowing is also wheelchair accessible. Both vans are set up nearly identical with Ricon wheelchair lifts, and four inch drop floors so it's been very convenient, but I only have short term use of the loaner.

Anyway, any suggestions for running used 302s which are carborated would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for reading.
