Hey Guys,
I am ordering a 2002 E-350 van with 7.3L PSD engine, but the dealer is telling me that the only rear-end I can get is the 4.10. All the literature I've read says that I should be able to get the 3.55 w/limited slip. I need a reference . . . Help please.:-X11
I just bought a 2002 Van with a PSD and it has 3.55 gear regular cargo body, not extended. It has 2000 miles. Watch for master cylinder mine went bad after 1600 mi. it just roled back on a slope with no warning at all. Also strong idle knock when hot. It is at the dealer. They agree that is a noise. The rest just great. A higher gear will put less load on the transmision so the dealer/Ford would have less problems in the warranty.
I have a 99 e-350 that I ordered with the 3:55 gear. I am ordering another since I have 200k on this one with no problems whatsoever. I do have the option of the 3.55 on the new one also. Good luck with your new van! I wouldnt get any other van except with the 7.3. Just dont curse too much when you change the fuel filter on vans. Its a !
