Throttle body spacer?
Do throttle body spacers really work as well as they say they do? I am looking at getting a helix? Says there is gains up 22HP 25Ib/ft and up too 5MPG. I have a 92 302. I saw somewhere that they dont work if you have a K&N intake which I do will it it work? I have heard that they make a whinning noise like a supercharger or turbo it that true too. Wondering if anybody has one and there opion on them.

Spacers work really well on carbureted applications (and GM TBI), but usually don't work so well on FI applications with a large plenum. They work well on the apps listed earlier because they accelerated the charge as well as prevented fuel puddling. Any swirl or increased velocity will be lost as soon as it hits the increased volume of the plenum on your application. I had one on my 4.3L TBI Jimmy and it worked ok, not really worth $80 so I'm not even going to bother on my 4.9L F-150.
