Possibly a SD engine in the future??

I was looking on the Commercial Ford Truck site (dreaming of owning a 750 for pulling trailers) and found that Ford is introducing the LCF, a cab-over medium-duty truck similar to the Chevy W-series. This new truck is in the same range as the F4/550, with the corresponing GVWRs. It is powered by a Powerstroke 4.5 V-6. Does anyone else think that this might be the next SD diesel, or that it engine might end up in the light-duty trucks and usher in a new era of Powerstroke trucks??

This was supposed to be developed for Ford to put in the F-150. After the 6.0L fiasco, Ford pulled the development plug (according to blueovalnews.com) with Navistar, so the engine was relegated to this duty.

As "BadHabitinVA" said, the 4.5L V-6 Powerstroke was originally set to be in the F-series and E-series, but was cancelled and relegated to duty in the new cabover. I think all the problems with the 6.0L V-8 had something to do with it, plus the 4.5L is a 90-degree V-6 which seems to me would cause a NVH nightmare. There was an article on Blueovalnews today linked from WardsAuto.com about how Ford still wants a light duty diesel, and are currently looking for suppliers, so we may see something after 2006 or 2007.
