Well I was originally planning on rebuilding my 90 speed density as a 393 stroker but after reading just about every post on this site Im starting to think that even with a Diablo chip and other mods this isnt gonna be realistic without a Mass Air conversion which I cant afford yet.
Now im thinking I should just rebuild it with some new heads and more aggressive (yet SD friendly) cam. Ive read a lot of posts that say that going to roller rockers will be an excellent performance mod so I went to CompCam's website and the only roller conversion cam I found said it was not for EFI engines.
Can anyone tell me what parts I would need to do this and where they can be found?? Im kind of an engine newbie and would greatly appreciate any help...
I'm a little confused. Are you talking about a roller cam and lifter conversion or roller rockers, or both? I would also go to Crane Cams website for information and applications, as they have more Ford products than Comp or anyone else.
your 90 block probably isn't a roller cam block and as such you would require a conversion setup, probably be cheaper to find a rebuildable roller block , I think 94 and newer but I'm sure someone out there knows for sure.Roller rocker arms can be converted to any engine in the Ford line whether they have a roller cam or flat tappet hyd. or solid cam all it takes is money.
A good set of conversion roller lifters is going to run you about $350. There are some cheaper, but notice I said a good set. You probably would be cheaper to go to a block that was factory roller. If you go with roller rockers, be sure to go to adjustable.
