Man I can't believe what Iv'e been missing. And I feel like a big doofus to boot. I read and participate in the super duty , expedition, and V-10 forums, and I used to post on the F-150 spots and have never scrolled down this far for a long time. What a way to feel like a total geek and just find out SO CAL finally has a chapter. I live in ridgecrest. How are ya'll doing. Don't mind me I'm a Doofus.

Well today it feels like we are one the coast and having a hurricane but we are really in the mojave desert where 178 and 395 meet. Anybody going skiing in Mammoth will drive right past us and not even know we are here. Heck we even got us a Home Depot so I guess we are really here.

Yo JimP,
I know Ridgecrest. Lived there for short time. Relatives there. My wife was born in Lone Pine and grew up there. We used to eat at La Fiesta all the time. Do you know Doug or Dottie Cowan? My wifes family. I'm new to the club too. We live in San Diego now, and I just got my truck. Nice to hear someone is still alive in China lake.
Jeff
I haven't been out to Ridgecrest in a long time. Came close last summer while riding my motorcycle through the desert. I use to live in Lake Isabella, now in Bakersfield.
Bluflamr, are you in the navy? Just wondering cause you mention China Lake.
Jeff, Don't know the in laws but I would probably recognize them. I work on the base at China Lake. stayed here after I got out of the Navy. This is a Ford city now. so many truck that you couldn't swing a cat without hitting one. Way outnumbers the the other off brands. Dont know why there aren't more members from here.

Thats some pretty rough stuff. Ive never been to goler but have been around in that area before. pretty hot days this weekend. I stayed at the JR Olympics all day saturdaay and had a honey do list a mile long that still has the same stuff on it. Next time maybe we can meet up for lunch!

We used to camp all the time just outside Ridgecrest.. just off the highway my ex had some propery with an old army barracks on it.. I am sure you know what I am talking about... anyway it has been in the family a long time and there used to be a book in it that everyone would sign when they passed through.. but over the last 15 years the place got really bad with people breaking in and trashing it..We would just hang out ride dirt bike and shoot guns
Two places come to mind. If it was by a dry lake bed somebody tore the buildings down. If it was right off the highway you must have sold it because the place is getting remodeled and turned into a BBQ joint.
Hey Hey,
I'm in Ridgecrest too. Pretty new to this board, O.K. real new.
I've been a Jeeper for a long time and just recently sold my wife's Suburban and bought an 03 F250 Crew Cab Short box, diesel, 4x4. I love the truck. It's future life will be as the tow rig for the Jeep on those longer wheeling trips.
glad to see somebody else on here from R/C.
ryan
WoW!! I never would have thought anyone from Ridgecrest would be here. I drive the sonic blue crew cab F-250. There is an F-350 the same color but I have the sport pkg and have blue bumpers and grill instead of chrome. give a wave if you see me.
JimP
I'll keep an eye out for you. Mine is a Shadow Gray, crew cab, short box, lariat 4x4 with the FX4 package. The wife drives it most days but I steal it every chance I get. She's not too fond of driving my Jeep since it has lockers front and rear and likes to change lanes all by itself . Oh well, a man has to have his toys.
I'm looking for a toy like that to take me and my son hunting. Cant get the 250 into the places I used to take the 150 without tearing up the paint. Let me know if you run across a "deal".
